FAQ
What are the key challenges for Project Management today and how can these be managed effectively?
The most common issues our team identified by our existing clients is:
Miscommunication between projects and their objectives: Most projects start out closely aligned with their objectives, but business objectives change and evolve. Without redirection, projects and deliverables end up failing to meet expectations.
Managing expectation: Human capital, tools and mechanism by which project managers communicate where the project stands, where the project is going and steps how the project will arrive. Our team focuses on road mapping expectations, segment them into manageable parts with a unified channel of communication. We use and make roadmap flexible that can demonstrate changes and reflect new decisions.
Inability to maintain focus: Inability to focus on strategic goals. KCReliance team identified path and analytics that could widely applicable and used to overcome down larger strategic goals in more tactical manageable parts. Those smaller parts will be easier incorporated into our daily routine.
Execution Problems and Team Biases: Most managers would say execution is our primary goal, but do not realize every project requires customize set of skills to accomplish deadline. Execution problem is nothing but an inability to foresee and understand the potential challenges up front. Problematic execution wastes resources, time and opportunities, diverts management attention and hinders project delivery. KCReliance team focuses on to align everyone in an organization with a customer facing role to see the big picture. We make possible to identified weakest links in organization and point out ways in which it may be addressed more attention or applied to future projects.
Understanding the financing: One of the big issues is lack of understanding financial aspect of the projects. In any cases, we will find PM’s focusing on execution, but not on financial performance, project will have met deadlines, but will end up with negative margins and no profits. What we offer to our clients are: revenue recognition training, use of appropriate accounting methods, budgeting & scheduling, understanding the various type of project contracts, forecast, cash flow and net working capital. Also, we provide the best way to achieve the management nexus is by creating a rigorous and demonstrably equitable process to qualify new ideas and evaluate inputs.

When every task is urgent, how do you determine what to prioritize?
Working closely with client, we make sure Deciding which areas of a project require the most resources is a tough call, especially when every single component seems like it should be the #1 priority. We use our time management tool, we prioritize tasks for ultimate efficiency, we work always towards client’s main goal, we assess client’s urgent needs.
How do you turn around a project that isn't going as planned?
The ability to re-evaluate and re-prioritize as a project progresses is a crucial skill, but it's also important to keep up the team's overall morale. Find a project manager who isn't afraid to change course when the waters get rough and who can keep the team energized even when things aren't looking so great.
Example: "Within a certain market, I examine population size and the percentage of people that use the product or service. By using surveys, analyzing data and identifying key issues customers are having with the industry, I can also estimate the number of customers we could serve but simply haven't yet." In consultancy, market sizing is a vital skill. It's how consultants calculate growth potential. The question is also a good way to see the applicants' thought processes and how they use various tools to reach an accurate number. Since this question can be difficult, especially without data and research tools, more attention should be given to the approach used, rather than the actual number. Look for answers that demonstrate quantitative and reasoning skills. What to look for in an answer:
Applicant's critical thinking skills
Commitment to research and data-driven approaches
Ability to identify market opportunities
